Ananda Venkateshwara Pooja
Initial Energizing and Pooja for Lord Ananda Venkateshwara
Swamiji went to Mahabalipuram, Chennai in the month of June 2004
to inaugurate the carving of Lord Nithyeshwara, who is going to
be the presiding deity of Dhyanapeetam. At that time, he picked
up a 10 feet tall idol and christened it 'Lord Ananda Venkateshwara'
and brought it to the ashram. Swamiji started the process of energizing
the idol by doing prana prathista and pooja himself. Surprised
devotees questioned him on it and he replied with His usual laughter,
"Maybe he wants to go to the United States of America!".
(When prana prathishta is done, it is believed that the
Brahmananda or Cosmic energy is contained in the form of the deity).
