15 Aug - Krishna Jayanti (Birthday of Lord Krishna). Swamiji gives an interesting discourse on Lord Krishna's contribution to India and its life. He declares that Lord Krishna is the ultimate Brahmachari - one whose inner space is untouched, untainted by any of his actions; one who lived a liberated life on Planet Earth, a great Enlightened Master who set an astounding example for all human beings to follow to attain totality. He observed that it is indeed significant that Krishna Jayanti was observed during the Brahmacharya course.
After Krishna Jayanti pooja, Swamiji offers prasad (sweetmeats offered to the Lord) to each and every one present.
Swamiji is seen alongside the Rishabha Devar diety (a form of Lord Shiva) in the Ananda Sabha.
Swamiji personally lights the fires for each one during the Pancha tapas meditation.
A participant sits with great sincerity and intensity inside the circle of fire.
Preparing the fire pit for a fire walk: A fire pit 40' long with 20' of water trough at each end is being prepared under the direct supervision of Swamiji. Fire walking was part of the Brahmacharya program. Swamiji explained that fire walking is done to offer oneself completely to Existence, to emerge as a new Being, free from past negative thought patterns and to surrender competely to Existence and the Master, who is the form of Existence itself.
