Swamiji's 29th Jayanti celebrations - 2006

Swamiji's 29th Jayanti (birthday) was celebrated in the ashram in Bangalore on the 1st of January 2006. As part of the Jayanti message, Swamiji declared the following:

  • Dhyanapeetam will henceforth be called Dhyanapeeta Mahasamsthana.
  • The new throne on which Swamiji sat for the first time on this day will be called as Dhyanapeeta Mahasamsthana Simhasana.
  • Swamiji's words, body language, techniques and all his expressions will be referred to as Nithyanandam.
  • World over there will be formations of Ananda Samajs (Blissful communities) where people come together and live life in tune with Swamiji's teachings and message of bliss.
  • The word of greeting amidst people of the Nithyananda family will be Nithyanandam which means 'Eternal bliss'. This greeting will help put people constantly on the path of Eternal Bliss.
  • Inauguration of ashrams in Los Angeles, Guadeloupe and Thiruvannamalai.
  • Start of the one-year residential course - Ananda Yogam - a free self-development course for youth aged between 18 and 30.
  • Start of the construction of the Ananda Eashwar temple in the sacred banyan tree area, the Nithya Anna Mandir - Food temple and Anandapuri - Quarters for residents.

31 Dec - Swamiji goes in a procession in the neighboring village leading a large group of devotees who carried milkpots on their heads to offer to Lord Ananda Eashwar at the ashram. This ritual symbolically represents offering of one's very life to Existence or God.

31 Dec - Swamiji is seen in procession with the Dhyanapeetam flag and other symbolic procession items.

31 Dec - In the procession, devotees can be seen carrying the flags of the 21 countries in which Dhyanapeetam has a presence.

31 Dec - The deities of the ashram are carried as part of the milk pot procession...

31 Dec - Enthusiastic devotees from all over the world are seen carrying the milk pots on their heads.

31 Dec - The procession arrives at the ashram and Swamiji offers the first pot of milk to Lord Ananda Eashwar (Shivlinga).

31 Dec - Swamiji offers milk to Lord Ananda Eashwar (Lord Dakshinamurthy)
