Salem Ashram, India
- Inauguration

On 12 Nov 2006, Swamiji inaugurated the Salem ashram at the land identified for it. He declared it the headquarters of Tamilnadu. A program packed with events, those who were present took back tremendous moments to share with one and all.

Starting with preliminary fire rituals and other offerings on the 11th, and continuing through the night, the actual inauguration was on 12th morning.

On this occasion, besides inaugurating the Salem ashram and ordaining the ashramites, Swamiji also announced the starting of the Kancheepuram ashram! He himself named and ordained the Kancheepuram ashramites on stage. He then declared the administrative and spiritual heads of the Salem and Kancheepuram ashrams. On another exciting note, he threw open an option for all those who wished to be ashramites of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam to come forward and register their names. Amidst great cheer at this unexpected gesture, 35 families came forward on the spot and registered themselves as future ashramites.

Following is the essence of Swamiji's speech:

I hereby declare Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam at Salem, head quarters of Tamilnadu operations open (12 Nov, 7:57am). For any cyclone, a low pressure needs to be created. In the same way, for any spiritual organization to happen, deep seeking on the part of seekers has to happen. Ramakrishna says: Masters descend on planet Earth due to the low pressure created by sincere seekers. Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam is also happening in the same fashion.

Our organization is like a sugarcane. Like how the top of it is not sweet, the early days of the ashram see only few numbers, but like how as you proceed biting into the sugarcane it becomes tremendously sweet, as the movement intensifies, millions of people will be drawn in. When Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam was inaugurated in Bidadi for the first time 3 years back, there was not even one quarter of the crowd that has gathered here today. Just one year after inauguration, we had our mission spread in 8 countries!

For any spiritual organization to flourish, three things are needed: A deep spiritual seeking, an attitude of sacrificing one's life for the mission and the presence of an enlightened Master. Here, all three are there! Liberation has started for Tamilnadu through this day.

Through this Peeta, this Throne, I hereby declare the following:

There will be 1000 Nithyananda Dhyanapeetams functioning under this headquarters.
There will be 1 Lakh Ordained Ashramites just through this Throne.
There will be 1 Crore people who receive initiation through this Throne.
There will be 1000 Enlightened people produced through this Throne.

Tamilnadu will start giving birth to enlightened humans after this. Let there be Nithyananda - eternal bliss everywhere!

Following are pictures from the program. Stay tuned for further updates:

In the following pictures, the function is inaugurated and Swamiji offers Momentos and felicitates the invitees.

Swamiji delivers his address note. He stressed the need for great enlightened masters to set up a mission with a message. He said, 'While the West has done thousands of years of research in the outer world science, the East has done 10,000 years of research in inner world science. Spirituality is the Backbone for any human being. The rest is next. If something is wrong with the backbone, the remedy is not to remove it but to repair it. Like how every country contributes in terms or technology and research, India is responsible for fostering spirituality.'
