Maha Shivaratri 2010 festival at Bengaluru Ashram & Night long celebration
The Inner Awakening in Maha Shivaratri
'Shiva' means 'Causeless Auspicious Energy'. ‘Ratri’ not only means night, but also refers to intensity. Maha Shivaratri is the night when the intense auspicious energy of Shiva is available for all of us as a powerful clairvoyance.
Maha Shivaratri 2010 will be all about the ‘Inner Awakening’ – awakening your inner space and the kundalini shakti – the tremendous potential energy inside you. It is about awakening your own higher consciousness – Shiva consciousness.
Why do we need this inner awakening? Most of the time we don’t know why we talk the way we talk, why we behave the way we behave, why we like something or hate something. This is dangerous not only for us but also for the people who live around us. So we need to bring the light of awareness into our inner space. Mahashivaratri 2010 is a direct opportunity to realize this awareness and intensity in our life.

Awakening the energy centers on Maha Shivaratri
If inner awakening happens in you, you are living as Shiva - the being whose inner space is completely awakened, living in light, radiating the energy.
When the inner awakening happens, each chakra or subtle energy center in the body, comes to life. For example, when the muladhara or root chakra is awakened through awareness, all the fantasies which torture you get burnt away – just like Shiva opened his third eye and burnt down Manmatha (Cupid) when he tried disturbing Shiva’s meditation through arrows of lust.
In the same way, when the tremendous worry or depression rises in you from the manipuraka chakra, you can respond like Shiva who just drank the poison that came out during the churning of the milky ocean – don’t be shaken by the worry, have deep acceptance, and you will see the worry disappear like the poison gave way to nectar.
Experiencing Shiva in Maha Shivaratri 2010
Like this, when all the seven chakras are awakened, you become Shiva. The Shiva Kundalini dhyaan, which will be directly conducted by Paramahamsa Nithyananda, is a safe spiritual method of awakening this energy.
On this night of Shiva experience Shiva Kundalini dhyaan (meditation) conducted directly by Paramahamsa Nithyananda; experience the auspicious energy of Shiva; Paramahamsa Nithyananda in Nirvikalpa Samadhi
To truly experience Shiva and worship Him, you have to become Shiva himself – experience the Shiva consciousness. Only when you become Shiva, you can even understand the space Shiva is in. Otherwise you will only be imagining Shiva. On this auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri 2010, let us experience Shiva.
