Nithyananda Gurukul is a co-educational, English
medium, residential school and
is located at Dhyanapeetam
Ashram (Off Mysore Road),
Bidadi – 562109 (Bangalore
Dist.) The students live and
learn under the guidance of
Swami Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
The Gurukul follows
the curriculum prescribed by
the National Institute of Open
Schooling (NIOS), New Delhi. It
is attached for examination
purpose to an educational
institution in Bangalore,
which in turn is affiliated to
NIOS.
The syllabus is
patterned on the CBSE curriculum. Students are
prepared to appear for the
Class X Board Examination
conducted by NIOS.
Admissions for
Classes III to X for the
academic year 2007-08 are in
progress. The recommended date
for the receipt of
applications is May 30, 2007.
The Gurukul fee of
Rs. 30,000 per annum includes
tuition fees, boarding and
lodging. In addition, parents
are to provide to their wards
textbooks and stationery, (will
be supplied by school on
payment) personal clothing and
some bed linen. They are also
to provide monthly pocket
money for the purchase of
toilet items. Donations are
also requested for the
construction of permanent
Gurukul & hostel

The care and welfare
of the students is entrusted

elderly women Ashramites.
The Gurukul has no prescribed
uniform this year.
The Gurukul is
closed for summer vacation
from April 17, 2007 to June
10, 2007 and will reopen on
Monday, June 11, 2007.
Curriculum
The Gurukul is
administered by an experienced
Principal and well-qualified
teachers. It is equipped with
a fairly good library and
teaching and learning aids.
The curriculum
comprises five subjects in all
- English, Hindi, Mathematics,
Science and Technology, and
Social Studies. The syllabus
is prescribed by the NIOS.
Books prepared by CBSE (NCERT)
/ NIOS / Karnataka State Board
are followed.
Co-curricular and
extra-curricular activities
are organised as per the
weekly timetable.
Active participation
in various ashram activities
such as Guru Puja, Sandhya
Arati and celebration of
festivals is compulsory. Vedic
studies and activities like
yoga and meditation programmes
impart a spiritual orientation
to the children from the young
age. This enables them to
learn, appreciate and
understand Indian culture,
heritage and wisdom.
Personality and
character development, Public
Speaking, Karate, etc. are
included in the
extra-curricular activities.
Literary and
cultural activities are an
essential part of the
curriculum.
