Kodikkan Ratha Yatra enters Bangalore ashram

On 14 Dec 2006 , the grand chariot
of Sri Anandeshwar and Anandeshwari
which completed its two and a half
month procession under the banner ‘Kodikkan
Ratha Yatra' in Tamilnadu and Karnataka,
entered the Bangalore ashram having
offered darshan to
crores of people. Amidst great celebration,
the chariot was received by ashramites
and devotees and parked at the ashram.
7 ½ feet high and weighing
2 ½ tones, the deities of Sri
Anandeshwar and Anandeshwari are due
to be consecrated on the 1 st of January
2007 at the upcoming temple of Sri
Anandeshwar in Bangalore ashram by
Swamiji, as part of Swamiji's 30th
Jayanti celebrations.
Ashramites
await the arrival of the
chariot with traditional
offerings. At 9:56 AM, the
chariot arrives at the entrance
of the ashram.
The traditional poorna
kumbha (silver pot)
is offered to the deities.
The chariot makes its way to
the sacred banyan tree
The Mahameru (representing
Shiva and the Cosmos symbolically)
and Devi deity are taken out
of the chariot to Sri Anandeshwar
under the banyan tree and arati is
offered there.
